Our ladies are the heart and soul of all we do. The White Peacock Shop was founded to equip & empower a community of local slum-dwelling women. Many of whom had young kids, they were forced to leave for long hours during the day, while they went out to work in the fields or were engaging in manual labor.
It didn't take long before we noticed the incredible skills each of these women possessed. They could weave, sew, stitch, crochet... you name it. Each of them was uniquely creative, turning their tin shelters into homes by making or refurbishing their belongings. We begin helping them see the value in their skills and created marketable products from those talents. Now, these women are able to work from home, take care of their kids, and bring in an income.
The White Peacock was founded to empower these already talented women and remains a center for equipping and inspiring them today. Our women are less of "employees" and more of entrepreneurs. They design new ideas themselves, make them by hand and bring them in for feedback. When a design works, it sticks. The more that item sells, the more the lady who designed it will make. When you purchase a Savita Purse, you are literally supporting Savita in her entrepreneur endeavors.
We currently empowers 60 women whose lives have been transformed by the ability to provide for their families in a dignifying way. We want to see more women just like them take ownership over their lives and create the home-life their families deserve. So, who's with us?
